Choose your trip in Kazakhstan
How to choose your Kazakhstan trip?
Kazakhstan is vast, 2,700,000 km², five times the size of France. Your trip duration therefore directly determines which regions you can combine. A circuit of 13 to 17 days allows you to discover Almaty, the Tian Shan with Lakes Kolsai and Kaindy, Charyn Canyon, then Astana and Turkestan via a domestic flight. To include Mangystau or the Kazakh Altai, plan for a circuit of 18 days or more, which allows time to absorb the long distances without rushing from site to site. Our team builds each itinerary with a balance between nature, nomadic culture and Silk Road heritage.
Different types of circuits
Three main themes structure our offer. Cultural circuits focus on the Sufi mausoleums of Turkestan, the bazaars of Chimkent, encounters with nomadic herders on summer pastures and traditional dishes (beshbarmak, kazy, koumiss). Adventure circuits are for hikers and lovers of wild landscapes: 4 to 7-day treks in the Tian Shan, 4x4 expedition in the Mangystau desert, eagle hunting observation in the Altai. Family circuits feature short stages, yurt stays suited to children and varied activities between alpine lakes, horseback rides and discovering Almaty.
What is the best season?
Kazakhstan is best visited from April to October. For the Tian Shan and high-altitude lakes, June to September remains the most stable window, with daytime temperatures of 20 to 28°C and cool nights above 2,000 meters. Mangystau and the desert are best explored from April to June and September to October, as July-August exceed 40°C. The Kazakh Altai is accessible only from June to mid-September. For Astana and the steppes, May to September. The peak period for combining multiple regions remains May-June and September: wild tulips in spring, golden light and mild temperatures in autumn.
